Completed in 2009 when Brian was Project Architect at Ennead Architects, Riverhouse is an approximately 600,000sf, 32 story condominium tower in Lower Manhattan's Battery Park City.   The project required close coordination with the Battery Park City Authority to meet their stringent green guidelines, as well as the requirements to achieve LEED Gold certification from the USGBC.  Among the sustainable features that earned the project its certification are extensively planted roofs, a photovoltaic array that passively tracks the trajectory of the sun to maximize renewable energy output, and a west-facing double glass curtain wall system that takes advantage of natural convection to prevent solar heat gain while maximizing New York harbor views.
